What to do if it rains on your wedding day?

The big day is fast approaching, and you have been desperately keeping track of the weekend weather, thinking “what to do if it rains on your wedding day?” Only to find out that on Friday and Sunday it’s forecast sunny, but on your Saturday wedding day, you are due a mixture of sunshine and showers! Worst of all it’s predicted to rain for the entire day!

Why? The UK do you do this to me! I’m sure at this point you wouldn’t be wrong in screaming out loud “I knew we should have gotten married abroad!” Maybe, but then it would be too hot, and that's a whole other story... #weddingdaymakeup

Well, we all know the UK’s weather has its moments and that you can never guarantee good weather even at the height of summer. So, the best advice I can give you when asking yourself about what to do if it rains on your wedding day is to. Don't worry about it; embrace it!

Even though you might be thinking it’s the worst possible outcome for your wedding day, it can make for romantic and dramatic wedding photography. Your day is all about you and your wedding and not the weather, I say that preparation is key to not letting the rainy wedding weather take over, there are lots of things a photographer can do to embrace the conditions ahead.

Note: I only use high-end photography equipment, and all my cameras and lenses are fully weather-sealed, so there’s no problem with me standing out in a little rain to capture your bridal portraits.

On the upside, it rarely rains for the whole day, even in England (famous last words), so we can do our best to capture the most important shots in between, we might even get a rainbow 🙂 Imagine that as a wedding portrait hanging on your front room wall!
